Service Description
For people looking to start keeping bees or wanting to learn more about honey bees and how to help save these and other pollinators. This option is for one adult (or child over 15). Children under 15 are free to attend the class - please notate in your registration the number of children in attendance. We will begin class at 10:00 AM, break for lunch at noon, and continue the class at 12:30 PM. Lunch will be provided - please let us know if you have any allergies or sensitivities. Please bring a notebook and pen/pencil if you would like to take notes. A detailed class outline will be provided for you at the class. The class will cover: - A Brief History on Beekeeping & Basic Honey Bee Biology - Getting Started: Location, Equipment, and Tools - Getting to know your bees: Bee behavior & Handling - Pests, Parasite and Problems: Mite, Moths, Disorders, and BEARS! - Building your Bee-yard: Packages/Nuc, Fencing, Suppliers Space is limited, so book soon!
